Mia Farrow Was Paid To Campaign Against Chevron

You may remember how the MSM (main stream media) reported that the courts in Ecuador took Chevron to task for polluting their country.  Chevron was fined several billion dollars by the courts in Ecuador for the environmental issues.  What you may not have heard is that a United States court found that the Ecuador action against Chevron was little more than a thuggery shakedown that was accomplished by bribes to many in Ecuador including judges and “independent” experts.  The United States court also found that certain Americans were a part of this collusion. One American that was paid for her advancement of the lies against Chevron was Mia Farrow.  Possibly a simple pawn, Farrow has since admitted accepting funds for her work in Ecuador.

Based upon another report, actor Danny Glover needs to answer some questions as well.

Militarization of Police Forces And Schools – Saga Continues

On August 28, I wrote about the militarization of our local police forces. Then on September 16 I wrote about the militarization of our schools.  Now it seems that some of our local police departments and schools are waking up to the idea that this “free deal” with the federal government was not such a great idea after all.

In this article, it is noted that the San Jose Police department is returning its’ MRAP and the Los Angeles Unified school system is returning their three grenade launchers, but has decided to keep their 16 military rifles and their MRAP.  Crazy as it sounds, the Los Angeles Unified school system still thinks that it needs a MRAP.  Still crazier, is the fact that once these agencies get their “free” equipment, it is hard to get rid of.

Militarization of our schools

THE MILITARIZATION OF  OUR LOCAL POLICE FORCES SCHOOLS

On August 28, I wrote a piece questioning the militarization of our local police departments. In that article I asked some tough questions concerning the need for local law enforcement agencies to have military surplus items such as grenade launchers and mine resistant armored vehicles (the later are specifically known as a MRAP). I believe that our local Sherriff Gary Painter made a pretty good case for Midland County’s need for their MRAP. From a perceived need basis, Sheriff Painter laid out the times that a heavy duty personnel carrier was needed against a heavily armed suspect. Indeed, the prior equipment that was available had proven to be too light against the heavily armed suspect. In another case, the mere presence of the MRAP being brought on scene itself ended the standoff. From a fiscal point of view, Sherriff Painter clearly laid out the fact that the MRAP assigned to the Midland County Sheriff’s Office was not going to be paid for by taxpayer money.

The point that I had alluded to on August 28, but want to make crystal clear today, is that not every law enforcement agency can justify their own acquisition and maintenance of the “free” military surplus items offered by the federal government. Looking at some of the other law enforcement agencies that have received these MRAPs, I have to scratch my head and ask myself, “[w]hat in the heck justifies their need of a MRAP?” For example, in the previously mentioned article, I pointed out that the New Mexico State University Police Department has their own MRAP. And a more recent headline reveals that an elementary school in San Diego, California has just got its’ own MRAP.

Police Vehicle

An elementary school with a mine resistant vehicle …. Is this some crazy idea of rounding up truants? I realize that these are both border communities; however, I cannot imagine any potential situation that any school law enforcement agency would need their very own MRAP. And I cannot imagine how any prior knowledge of this equipment would prevent any terror event. Further along this line, I cannot imagine that the aforementioned schools would ever be the only law enforcement agencies to be able to respond to another terror incident if, God forbid, another were to happen again.

I also cannot imagine how a school law enforcement agency justifies the fiscal expense in terms of dollars and manpower associated with the maintenance and training needed to keep this vehicle. Being a small business owner, I have several fiscal principles that I stick to. These principles apply for individuals, small businesses, multinational businesses and government agencies. Seeing how the schools applied any of these principles to their use of taxpayer funds for the maintenance of a MRAP is not possible. For brevity, I will mention just two.

Principle # 1. Just because you can afford it (or if it’s free) does not mean that you should buy it (or accept it). There are serious implications to everything that you obtain. Some things have long term implications, some more than others. Big ticket items, especially ones from the federal government, “eat every day” which means that one day you will have to pay something for that free gift.

Principle # 2. There are differences between needs, wants and desires. Being able to correctly identify the difference between these three takes training, skill and self-discipline. Most successful people will tell you that suppressing one’s short-term desires in favor of the opportunity to fulfill one’s long-term needs separates the best from the rest of the pack. In the case of an elementary school, I can’t imagine how any school bureaucrat sees having a MRAP fulfills the institutions long term or short term security goals. From a security point of view, the security needs for a school law enforcement agency are just different than the security needs for a small community.

With the above said, I believe that our schools need to be made safe from any potential threat. I don’t have a problem with armed security in our schools. And, I don’t have a problem with trained school personnel with carrying a concealed weapon. However, I am concerned about schools having equipment that they cannot justify when educators’ salaries could be enhanced. Let’s hope our schools here in Texas don’t follow the examples set by New Mexico and California.

Remembering 9/11

As I paused to remember the fallen heroes of September 11, I am reminded that just 3 days later I began drafting one of my first essays.  The Sound of Security has not been seen except by a few people before today.  I hope that you enjoy it.

The Sound of Security
By Nelson Spear

I remember hearing my mother do the dishes after I was tucked into bed at night as a child. The clattering of those plates and cups in the sink would reach my ears regardless of how many blankets I piled on top of me. But, as irritating as it was, that grating noise from the kitchen was security to me. I knew that I was not alone and that my mother was there to protect me. I could rest without any fear. I was secure.

In times like these, I begin to wonder where my security lies. After all, these are uncertain times. I was not prepared for the events of September 11 when the airplanes were hijacked by terrorists and purposefully flown into the World Trade Center buildings and the Pentagon. And if it were not for some heroic acts of some passengers on a fourth airplane, another major landmark would have been hit.

I know my reaction to such events really helps me get to know myself. I was numb. And even though I, as a Christian, have a Biblical explanation to the age-old question: How could God allow something like this to happen? Shouldn’t I have an automatic peace? Shouldn’t I really know that God is in control and that no weapon formed against us shall prosper? I should know these things, but they are very hard to live by especially when the peace does not come within the first five minutes after my one-minute prayer.

Then one Sunday afternoon, the light came on. Earlier in the afternoon, my son and I had gone to the hardware store to find a flagpole for one of the numerous American flags that I had collected over the years. You see, I had touted myself as this patriotic guy urging all people to vote: even those who did not agree with me. I have written letters to the editor, helped political candidates raise funds, volunteered on voting day. Heck, I have even attended a couple of national political conventions. But, up to that point, I never had taken the time to fly Old Glory. I don’t think it was laziness as much as it was that I didn’t see the need to fly her. After all, that job was being taken care of. All of our government offices flew her as did some of my friends’ parents. To me, it was something that should be done, just not by me – right then.

After we got back from the hardware store, my wife, my son and I all had a hand in figuring out the best way to display our flag. It was a beautiful afternoon. There was no breeze. After a few failures, we finally came upon the best solution. When we were done, we stood on the deck and said the Pledge of Allegiance. There she stood. Not swayed by anything.

My patriotic duty done, I decided to take a Sunday afternoon nap. Not long after I fell asleep I was slightly awakened by an unfamiliar sound — a flapping sound. I went back to sleep and awakened an hour later to realize that a strong breeze had come up. It was whipping the flag fiercely. But as I gazed at Old Glory from my bedroom window, I saw a beautiful sight. There she flew, as strong and resilient as ever. Then amazement overtook me – the American flag, the symbol of our country finally meant something personal to me.

You see, Old Glory at rest showed me that nothing in history could move her. But Old Glory in action, when the wind tosses her to and fro, shows me something more powerful. Like our nation, when Old Glory is challenged by the winds of adversity, her strength is revealed. Winds of strife have blown brutally through our nation for more than 200 years, yet democracy has always stood strong. Though challenged by civil war, it stood. Though challenged by assassinations of our presidents and civic leaders, it stood. Though challenged by scandal, it stood. And though challenged by terrorist attacks, democracy still stands.

So, where do I find security during these uncertain times? In the same way I was reassured by the sound of those clanging dinner dishes, I find security in the sound of Old Glory flapping in the wind. You see there is nothing quite like the sound of a flag that is buffeted by the wind. I am secure in knowing that our country will prevail through this challenge and the ones yet to come because I can hear with my own two ears that our flag is still there.

Obama’s Defacto Amnesty

Obama is getting his defacto amnesty by having his appointed administrative law judges set removal hearings four years after their initial appearance before the judge.  Keep in mind that the kid’s lawyer, and others like him, is paid by us the taxpayers.  Keep in mind, that while this kid, and others like him, have federal benefits while staying in the United States.

(CNSNews.com) — Seventeen-year-old Cristian … wanted to plead for asylum for “protection from torture,” and “declined to state his country of removal at this time,” the lawyer added.

Within a minute, Bryant had accepted the plea and scheduled a hearing in which the court will determine if Cristian is eligible to receive asylum.  The date was set for June 11, 2018. [Emphasis Added by Nelson Spear].

Up Close and Personal: A Return to Outcry in the Barrio

Outcry in the Barrio

After a visit to Outcry in the Barrio in April, a return visit has increased the understanding of what this ministry is doing.

By Steve Parkhurst

It is summer time in San Antonio. Mid-July, the 15th to be exact. The temperature approaches 100 degrees. It is a Texas summer day to be sure.

Pastor Roman Herrera, instead of sitting inside enjoying lemonade and air conditioning, is instead working his way through alleyways.

Pastor Roman is not homeless, he’s not looking for a meal, or a place to sleep in these alleys. Instead, he is looking for people. People he can possibly save. He is looking for people passed out or hung-over. He is finding people in such condition. People laying on cement paved alleys, with dirt, leaves and other debris as their only cushion. This just happens to be where they laid down the last time they laid down, or fell down.

Pastor Roman kneels next to these people, who in some cases won’t know he’s even there. One at a time, as he finds them. He might lay a hand on their chest or leg, then he will pray for them. He will offer them a chance to be saved. He offers them a place to go where once they accept that their lives are not being lived according to scripture, they can begin anew. He does not promise a new life. He promises a chance to find forgiveness through acceptance in Christ.

I can ask myself without hesitation, “what have I done this important this year?” and I can quickly, with humility and maybe a little shame, respond “nothing.”

And I don’t write this to shame people. I write this to point out the positive things being done, that arose from a married couple over 40 years ago who opened their home to the very first addict and there began a ministry that has changed the world. Freddie and Ninfa Garcia did this. Their work back in those days is still alive today.

Outcry in the Barrio is the ministry doing this work, leading the way to what looks like a renaissance. Pastor Roman and his wife Alma, they lead the way at the home that houses those in recovery and ministry at Outcry. Their love, caring and devotion is apparent when you talk with them, whether for thirty seconds or ninety minutes.

I was recently afforded the privilege to attend and witness the Outcry in the Barrio International Conference. Pastors gather to share stories about their work and ministries from wherever they traveled, be it Dallas or Peru.

One evening, I enter the performing arts complex where the evening session begins in about an hour. A gentleman approaches me to welcome me, he is a greeter. We shake hands and he asks me about my day. I ask about his day. We start talking. This gentleman is clean cut, wearing a nice shirt which is tucked in. He has tattoos, but I was not judging. I asked him about his relation to Outcry. The next 3 or 4 minutes contain an amazing story of drugs, jail, alcohol, crime, prison, and then, Outcry and Jesus.

I asked questions. He answered them. He’s been clean for nine years now. He has a day job and a family. I noticed at one point, he was constantly smiling, or at least, he was never frowning or looking down. He only spoke of his past because I asked about it, he has his sights set on scripture and the future. He has a personal vision, something that is very important to those who listen to and accept the teachings at Outcry.

His was not the only story. Other stories stretch back further than nine years. Most of these people know the date that things changed for them, and they share it proudly.

Outcry long ago began to reach beyond the limits of San Antonio’s west side. The presence in Texas is strong, but the international reach is certainly being felt as well.

As these leaders gathered for a sort of “iron sharpens iron” week of sharing and fellowship, we heard stories of struggle leading to acceptance; of sin leading to salvation. There are too many stories to write about here, but every story was full of humanity and hope. Each person I spoke with only inspired me to do more.

When I wrote about my Outcry visit this past April, I wrote about the fact that Robert Woodson, the founder of the Center for Neighborhood Enterprise had introduced and escorted Congressman Paul Ryan to Outcry in the Barrio this past January. One day during this week long conference, Congressman Ryan was in Washington D.C. at the American Enterprise Institute presenting his new findings on and solutions for poverty in America. Sitting to Congressman Ryan’s immediate right, was Robert Woodson. Was I being told something here?

Maybe so. This was too coincidental.

On politics for another moment, Congressman Ryan’s proposed solutions deserve consideration. They’re a conversation starter, and not a final plan to be voted upon by Congress anytime soon. The ideas of consolidating redundancies and granting states the power to develop ideas of their own to get people out of programs and into lives of meaning, that is a compelling cause which Jack Kemp would have loved, and then he would have fought for it.

Outcry in the Barrio is a great example of a “program” that throws convention to the wind and gets results their way. Outcry, for over forty years, has tried and tested its way to success. And when they need to, they can adjust what needs adjusting.

As a witness to this ministry, and my time observing Outcry is a mere drop in the bucket compared to their forty-plus years in operation, what they do is awe-inspiring. I’m often at a loss for words when I try to explain what I’ve seen and what I’ve heard. There are some incredible men and women in charge of things there. None of them will take credit either, it’s not about them, just as it’s not about me. It’s about faith in God and a desire to reach their vision of spreading the word to anyone who will listen.

I want to ask you, I won’t say the word “challenge” but I will ask you, to find the Outcry in your area. It may go by another name and do other work. But please get in there and help them. Help does not always mean going in with money or supplies, it can be in the form of ministering with and praying with those in need of saving, helping them find their way to their calling, helping them find their direction.

Pastor Jubal Garcia, the youngest son of Freddie and Ninfa, and the current director of Outcry in the Barrio, has global plans for Outcry. The conference in July was called Planet Shakers for a reason. As this national and international growth occurs, many hands, many minds and many hearts will be needed in various communities to assist these efforts. We can all play a role.

As I stated before, this is the stuff that leads to a renaissance.

Days after Pastor Roman is in back alleys spreading the Word and showing people how they can save themselves, I am in the room when he preaches a sermon to the conference attendees. He avoids the lectern and in fact, at points he gets off the elevated stage to stand in the midst of the people to whom he is preaching. To listen to this man is to find someone that feels something for human beings that is beyond words. He is a true embodiment of the work happening at Outcry and the people there.

I’ll begin to conclude with this. Ninfa Garcia, on the first night of the conference was on stage addressing the audience and she made the statement regarding her late husband, “Freddie was a soul winner.” That line struck me as powerful. It struck me as courageous. It also struck me as true. The course of the week long conference proved this to be true, and then some.

wrote about my first visit to Outcry in the Barrio back in April. I realize now that I missed a lot on that visit. In other cases, I found out that things I observed once, repeat themselves as they should.

Somewhere, I am as sure as a mere mortal can be, Freddie Garcia is smiling down on his work, on his creation. In founding Outcry in the Barrio, he did what he did as a higher calling, let’s not confuse that. But every day, every life saved and every life turned over to following God’s vision is another feather in the cap for Freddie, the soul winner.

Today Is National Empty Chair Day

National Empty Chair Day

Two years ago, I started the National Empty Chair Day as noted on the Texas GOP Vote website.

I wrote two years ago that the empty chair represented the failed economic policies of Barack Obama. I noted then that the empty chair represented the 23 million Americans who were either unemployed or underemployed due to the disastrous economic calamity that Mr. Obama had led us in for the first four years of his Presidency. I also mentioned that “economically speaking, after four years of an Obama Presidency, we [had] lots of bills, no pocket change, no jobs and no hope with another four years of an Obama Presidency.” While, the unemployment levels may have improved slightly, our current national debt is closely approaching a staggering $17.7 trillion. Since Obama became President, there has been a battle between our GDP and our national debt as to which one is larger and is growing the fastest. Unfortunately, our national debt has been a consistent winner.

With all of that said, this year’s empty chair needs to symbolize Obama’s failed foreign policy. Just a quick review of the last two years of Obama’s Presidency reveals a record of dismal failure after failure just on foreign policy. Below are just a few things that I can mention.

Middle East.

Now here is a scary thought – what Jimmy Carter could do, Barack Obama has not done.

I initially point out that the Obama has lost his credibility on the world stage by failing to decisively steer Middle Eastern nations in the direction of peace. Obama reminds me of that parent who threatens to spank their children for misbehaving and fails to back that threat up when the children continue to misbehave. Any worthwhile parenting book notes that a threat of parental action for child misbehavior that is not followed through results in loss of credibility of that child towards that parent. Obama’s “bright red line” parental threat against Syria for use of chemical weapons was clearly violated. There is no doubt that Syria used chemical weapons against her own people; however, there was no parental delivered consequence. Obama failed to follow up on that threat.

Further, the tensions between Israel and Palestinians have not been abated. By most accounts, things are worse now than before Obama became President. In fact, my sources tell me that the Palestinians have felt screwed by Obama in that he has done nothing to do anything to condemn, much less stop, the Israeli government’s permissive expansion of Jewish settlements into the West Bank.

War on Terror.

As in the case of the war on terror, I can specifically point out the failures surrounding the Benghazi, Libya mission where the Obama administration’s multiple failures to act resulted in the deaths of several Americans including a United States Ambassador. I can point out that ISIS has become more and more bold. ISIS is well known to have come into villages and kill women and children. While Obama has recently started some military actions against ISIS, I am afraid it is too little, too late. The threat of ISIS was a threat that needed to be dealt with early on. Now, it will have to take considerably more resources to rid the world of ISIS. However, based upon Obama’s timid military disposition, no one believes that he will have the intestinal fortitude to strike hard against these extremists.

Mexico and Central America.

The problem with the United States’ insecure border has escalated beyond all belief. Make no underestimation of Obama, what is happening on the border is by his design and desire. He is specifically ordering the removal of field agents from the border. As a result, the southern border has been left untended which means tens of thousands of people are pouring into the United States from Mexico and Central America. No one has any comprehension as to who these people are and what their intentions are. From a national security point of view, we have severe threat. An unsecure border results in a justifiable fear that the United States’ enemies are bringing WMDs into the United States. We do know that they are bringing in contagious diseases that would require quarantine even if they were to enter lawfully. What exasperates the border situation is that Obama threatens to use Executive Orders to further expand his immigration goals that he cannot accomplish through Congress.

Russia.

If Russia was to be described as a nuclear super power whose interests are contrary to true democracy, it would be regarded by all as a ridiculous understatement of the complexity of the geopolitical status of the situation. I first note that Obama nonchalantly, and without seeking Congressional input, released the United States’ claims to island territory in favor of Russia in the Arctic. While others may have forgotten about this blip on the radar, I think that this is a big deal. Speaking of radar, how many more airspace incursions into NATO territory do we tolerate? The recent incidences of violent provocations have increased dramatically within recent months. Speaking of incursions and provocations, what about Putin’s unchallenged “annexation” of Crimea? Now, we have Russian forces actively involved with “Ukrainian” separatists conducting military actions in Ukraine against a sovereign nation. I can’t but ask myself of how much more does Obama tolerate before there is something more than a phone call to Putin to protest this action.

Conclusion.

When it comes to foreign policy, Obama is playing a friendly game of checkers with America’s adversaries while the adversaries are playing a winner take all game of chess.

Please support this grassroots movement and place an empty chair near your front sidewalk after you have placed your flags. And, please photograph and share with me your empty chair photos on my Facebook page and my Twitter account.

The Militarization of Our Local Police Forces

A FEDERAL/LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACTION THAT MAKES BOTH CONSERVATIVES AND LIBERALS FLINCH

Those of you, who know me, know that I am not a real big “government conspiracy” guy. However, I always love to listen to any conspiratorial story. I can easily listen to most suggestions of government conspiracy to cover up and hide and take over various aspects of our daily lives. I may not agree with those who propose these theories, but my goal is to always leave all conversations with people as friends first, and then to be more informed second.

With that said, it is hard, real hard, to not be more inclined to the “government takeover” conspiracy when the current Presidential administration engages in certain activities with local government administrations. The particular activity in question has to do with the militarization of our local law enforcement agencies. By now, some of you have already become familiar with the fact that our local governments are becoming more and more militarized. In short, the Department of Defense is releasing some its equipment to local law enforcement agencies for their use under the 1033 Program. We saw evidence of this disbursal with the live TV coverage of the unfortunate happenings in Ferguson, Missouri. Locally, many of our law enforcement agencies, including NMSU in Las Cruces, New Mexico, have taken advantage of these offers from the government. In fact, the Midland County Sheriff’s Office has taken possession of a MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicle within the last few months.

Thus, this is not some wild conspiracy theory, but indeed real enough for the New York Times to have created an interactive map showing where some of the military’s surplus gear (including body armor, night vision equipment, assault weapons, grenade launchers and MRAPS) have gone to local counties. The militarization of our communities has become such a universal concern that many on the rightleft and in the pseudo-middle/left are raising awareness to the issue.

When I started looking into this, I read stories from every angle. However, the more I read the more questions and concerns I had that made me flinch. Below are a few of my “flinch” questions. Of my two local law enforcement agencies, only the Sheriff’s office has taken advantage of the 1033 Program. I have included Sheriff Painter’s responses in bold below to the questions and concerns that I have:

  1. If you figured out that once the local authorities took possession of these weapons that the federal authorities might take the weapons back and then use them contrary to the wishes of the local LEOs (law enforcement officers), did you flinch?
[Sheriff Painter: Unless the federal authorities declared Martial Law, I do not see that ever happening. You would be reaching a long way to get to that scenario. I know several of the Sheriffs in the other jurisdictions including Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. They are good people and I believe that you can trust them to do the right thing.]

  2. If you checked the link for your own county and you saw that your home county received a “mine resistant vehicle” or a “grenade launcher,” did you flinch?
[Sheriff Painter: Midland County did not request a grenade launcher. I will explain my reasons why we needed a MRAP below.]

  3. If you had to think for any length of time for reasons “why” your county might need a “mine resistant vehicle,” did you flinch?
[Sheriff Painter: Our need for a vehicle of this type has been proven time after time. We have had several occasions in the past here in Midland County where a suspect was so heavily armed that the rolling out of the MRAP was the only thing that ended the situation. Additionally, the drug cartels are increasingly becoming more and more violent. These cartels are also becoming better armed. As a law enforcement officer, it is my duty to be better armed than the criminals. This MRAP vehicle acquisition is a response to the criminals becoming better armed. There was a situation in West Odessa a few years ago that exemplified this previous point. In that situation, the suspect used a high powered rifle to flatten the tires of the armored personnel carrier. The suspect’s weapon also nearly penetrated the windshield directly in front of the driver. That carrier had to be taken out of from service because it was so heavily damaged during that incident by one suspect. If a MRAP had been available in that situation, it would not have been damaged much at all.]

  4. If you asked yourself, “[c]an I imagine a scenario where these weapons might ever be used against me or my family,” did you flinch?
[Sheriff Painter: Again, I know my people [deputies] and I know several of my fellow elected Sheriffs. Other than a declaration of Martial Law, I cannot imagine a scenario where my deputies or my fellow Sheriffs would ever use or permit the use of this equipment against Texans.

  5. If you realized that I have not even talked about the financial burden of storing, operating and maintaining these weapons, did you flinch?
[Sheriff Painter: Our MRAP and any other similar equipment obtained under the 1033 Program had already been paid for by the federal government. Our only expenses are the expenses for storage, operating and maintenance which will be paid for by drug seizure money. No Midland County tax dollars will be used for this vehicle.]

Now don’t get me wrong. I have no problems with some of our local law enforcement authorities obtaining and maintaining certain surplus items such as night vision equipment, body armor or even tactical assault type weapons. And, I absolutely trust Sheriff Gary Painter and Midland Chief of Police Price Robinson. And having over 12 years of experience as a state and federal prosecutor, I can honestly say that there are no active duty head LEOs that I trust more at this moment than either of these two men. However, it is not my local head LEOs that scare or concern me. What scares me is the simple fact that not every community has the benefit of people like Sheriff Painter and Chief Robinson. In short, I am still just not sure that I can trust the other head LEOs.

As for me, I will keep asking the tough questions. I know I will have more questions about this subject. For now, I appreciate Sheriff Painter’s time to answer my questions.

And, please keep talking to me about your conspiracy theories.

Please Join Me In Fighting Against Obama’s Tyranny

Allen Weh for US Senate New Mexico

Please excuse this rare, personal pitch for another candidate.

As you all know, the United States Senate is vital to maintaining the integrity and sovereignty of the United States of America. Barack Obama’s agenda is one that is inconsistent with the values of conservatives like you and me.

This year we conservatives have a real good chance at picking up several Senate seats. The chances are so great that the other party is worried, real worried. Thus, I think the question really becomes, “How large of a majority can the Republicans obtain in the Senate?” Keep in mind that the simple majority will not be enough to hold back the “Progressive” agenda of Obama.  We must have a solid “Conservative” corps of United States Senators.

That is why, I am writing to you now.

Nancy and I have personally supported several conservative candidates for the United States Senate for this election cycle. However, there is only one that I have personally known for the last dozen years or so and that is Allen Weh.

Allen Weh is a conservative candidate for the United States Senate in New Mexico. Below are just 10 of the many reasons why I support Allen in his quest to become a United States Senator. As you know me, I will not ask anyone to financially support a candidate that I have not financially supported. Although we now live in Texas, Nancy and I have personally contributed $250 to the Allen Weh for United States Senate campaign.

Can you match mine and Nancy’s $250 contribution, or do more? If so, please go to https://www.allenweh.com/contribute/ and make your online donation today.

Thanks,

Nelson Spear

PS – Please share this with as many people as possible

Ten Reasons Why I Support Allen Weh for United States Senate

#10      Allen Weh is a fiscal conservative. Since Tom Udall was first elected to Congress in 1999, the federal deficit has grown from $5.6 trillion to $17.5 trillion.[1] In 2013, for the first time, our Gross Domestic Product was exceeded by our deficit spending.[2] Almost every economist agrees that this level of deficit spending is unsustainable. Allen Weh will fight for a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution and work to ensure that government never spends more than it takes in.

#9       Allen Weh supports our Second Amendment rights! Tom Udall is a consistent opponent of individual gun owner rights. Most recently, Udall voted to ratify the UN Treaty that would have ceded certain gun rights to UN control.[3] Like most Republicans, Independents and common-sense-thinking Democrats, Allen Weh believes that the average citizen has the freedom to possess and use whatever weapons they want. Allen has an “AQ” rating from the NRA. The AQ rating is the highest possible score a non-incumbent candidate can receive from the NRA. In 2002, 2004 and 2006, prior to Udall’s vote to support the UN treaty, as New Mexico’s Congressman, Udall’s score with the NRA was a “D -.”[4]

# 8       Allen Weh is not a career politician.  Tom Udall has been in elective office and a full-time government politician for the past 24 years-such a long time with so little benefit to show for New Mexico. Ask yourself this: “Am I better off now because of something that Tom Udall has actively done as my representative either in New Mexico or D.C.?” For me, the answer is a resounding, “No!” Washington desperately needs Allen Weh’s common-sense, real-world perspective.

# 7       Allen Weh is a successful independent businessman and entrepreneur. In 1979, Allen risked his entire savings of $25,000 and signed for a loan from Albuquerque National Bank for another $25,000 in order to start his own company. CSI Aviation Inc., is an international air support and aviation logistics company that has employed hundreds of people. In 2012, Allen was named one of New Mexico’s Top Performing CEOs by New Mexico Business Weekly. Tom Udall has never run a private business much less held a private sector job in at least the last 35 years.

# 6         Allen Weh will secure our borders and enforce our laws. The current do-nothing approach by Tom Udall and the Washington politicians is unacceptable and is the leading cause of the current growing crisis on our southern border. Allen supports an aggressive new emphasis on securing our border using fences, boots on the ground, drones, and other high-tech methods. He opposes amnesty. He supports a workable guest worker program. And he will fight to eliminate the roadblocks that are currently hindering law enforcement and the border patrol.

# 5         Allen Weh supports the Oil and Gas Industry and the jobs it creates for New Mexicans. New Mexico’s private economy is driven by the oil and gas industry and Tom Udall has done nothing to encourage its development. In fact, Udall continues to push extremist environmentalist positions that prevent drilling in areas that can be drilled in an ecologically safe and prudent manner.

# 4         Allen Weh is a combat veteran with 38 years of service in the United States Marine Corps. He enlisted at the age of 17, was deployed four times and over the course of his service earned three Purple Hearts. The United States is proud of her veterans; however, only ONE member (that’s 1 of 100 Senators folks!) of the U.S. Senate is a combat veteran. Don’t our veterans deserve better representation than just one representative? I certainly think so.

# 3          Allen Weh is Pro-Life and Pro-family. Tom Udall has received a 100% score from the liberal group NARAL and a 0% from the National Organization for marriage. His extreme views are out of touch with mainstream New Mexicans. Allen Weh’s faith teaches him that every human being is created in the image of God.

# 2          Allen Weh is committed to the First Amendment. Tom Udall recently introduced an Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would re-write the First Amendment and impede the right of citizens to donate to political candidates and groups. I think that Udall is a hypocrite since he is the 3rd largest recipient of donations from radial, left-leaning environmentalist groups. Further, Udall has raised more than a million dollars more from places that do not share New Mexico values like Washington, New York and Boston.

# 1          This race is winnable with the proper funding. There have been several polls conducted since the first of June that test the Udall-Weh race. Despite having his name consistently on the New Mexico ballot for the last quarter century and despite the aggressive campaign spending presence in the state,[5] Tom Udall consistently remains under 50%. Further, surveys reveal that the margin of difference is as small as 5% and at most 9%. In the latest CBS poll, Udall received 47% of the favorable responses while Weh received 40%. Friends, this means Udall is beatable!
